YSA-10 Racing yacht and day cruiser
With the YSA-10 Sven Akermann, together with Thadeus Bierza has created a 33ft racer and day cruiser made of carbon, which makes all your dreams come true! The minimalism of form and the reduction of the fittings to the absolutely necessary make it possible for the regatta sailor and leisure time sailor to sail single-handedly or with only a small crew.
The latest technology in lightweight construction
The YSA-10 has sailed extremely successfully at international regattas and thanks to her pivoting keel, the latest technology and lightweight construction leaves substantially larger yachts behind at her wake. A top speed of 25 knots was reached in the gennacker sailing regatta "Double-handed around Lake Constance”. In the last few years, the YSA-10 was the first boat to reach the finish in many regattas.
The "load and carry" concept is characterized by mounting and dismantling of the yachts together with easy transport on a trailer or in a 40ft high cube container. This allows quick and easy transport to international regattas and yacht harbors.
Award-winning design
The design in complete “Carbon Look” and intended minimalism are state of the art and in 2007 won the iF Design Award in Gold for the best design.
The entire concept follows without compromise the requirements of a sporty single-hand sailing vessel. The YSA-10 is made entirely of carbon-Airex-epoxy sandwich and is built to extremely high standards of quality by infusion process. Further technical details, such as the hydraulic pivot and lift keel with a canting angle of 55° make the YSA-10 to a very special racing yacht in her class. A carbon rig and sail by North Sails complete the yacht.
In January 2007 the one-design boat was presented at the Fair in Duesseldorf. She was fitted out especially for the regatta sailor: no teak, manual hydraulics and approx. 150kg lighter than the custom model.
